Full Moon Thursday
Moon Rising
The moon rising the other evening just as a SpaceX rocket blasted off. Look like the rocket jumped over the moon.
Half Moon
Buck Moon Rising
The orange was the color of the moon until it got high enough to not be filtered through a lot of earth haze.
And here it is in black and white.
After The Launch
Falcon Heavy Launch in January.
Nine Falcon Engines
Space X Falcon 9
Visited the Kennedy Space Center today to check out the new Gateway Deep Space Launch Complex and Spaceport KSC. They do have a slightly used first stage Space X Falcon 9 hanging from the ceiling. Give you a context of how large it is. This is the business end with the landing legs folded in near the 9 engines.
Inside the Gateway building is the Spaceport KSC voyages, each of which takes to on a different journey into space. Strapped into seats you are taken on a journey thru space (think Soarin’ in space). I did Mars and Cosmic Wonders.
In the grand scheme of things I would recommend you take the bus ride out to the Saturn building first then when done with that jump right into the Atlantis exhibit and save the Gateway Complex for the later part of the day.
Moon and Jupiter Over Hogsmead
Falcon 9 Heavy Boosters
Traveling so fast I couldn’t capture the rocket and its external boosters as sharp as I wanted. Need to increase my ISO next time. I think there at lease 4 other Falcon heavy launches slated for this year so I should have plenty of chances.
