Advantage of living where I live. Rocket launches all the time. This launch last Monday was pretty spectacular. I was able to watch the rocket for quite some time and was able to watch the first stage re-enter an land at Canaveral. Complete with sonic boom.
Might be a bit hard to see but the very new (or was it old moon) setting over Epcot last night. Click on image to make it a bit bigger.
I’m fascinated watching the gondola going over the mechanism on each of the poles. Gondolas do not fall off but you look up and wonder how it works. At the stations the gondola can be disconnected from the wire quite quickly. I’ve ridden them a number of times and it becoming one of my favorite modes of transport around Walk Disney World.
The Moon orbits Earth at a speed of 2,288 miles per hour (3,683 kilometers per hour). The International Space Station is traveling about 17500 miles per hour. So the Space Station takes 90 minutes for one complete trip while the moon takes 27+ days.
Half moon last night just after the latest SpaceX launch with people on board.
