Fluffed Up
It took 10 seconds for the Snowy Egret to go from it’s sleek svelte shape to this puffed up fuzziness and back to normal. He has quite the control over his feathers. I think it is how he stretches. It just looks so neat.

Our pond has been pretty devoid of birds (other the vultures) for the past several weeks. The high temperature around here and low oxygen levels in the water has killed off a lot of fish. Yesterday after the rain we had several visitors including this Snowy Egret.
It was really hot the other day. Neighborhood alligator was opening his/her mouth for a bit of fresh air. This gator is getting uncomfortably big for someone who lives on our backyard pond.
The new finish on Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom is different if not well received. I personally feel that the colors just don’t gel together. The purple on the towers is a bit too saturated while the kind of skin tone or peach color on the building is flat. You may or may not like it. I’ll post more of the castle later. The crowds at Magic Kingdom were limited so I was able a lot closer than usual.
I was not expecting much on my first time riding the new Mickey’s Runaway Railroad at Hollywood Studios. The show replaced the Great American Movie Ride which had really reached max snoredome. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the ride ended up being. While it’s appeal is definitely aimed at the youngsters I found myself enjoying the ride and the visuals.
Time for another nap.
Sometimes the image is just not something that pops, until you play with it a bit. Lots of Nik 3 by DXO Color Effects Pro stuff going on. Detail Extractor, Pro Contrast, Polaroid Transfer, Indian Summer, and Foliage filters one on top of the other. If Fall would really come to Florida and stay more than a few hours.
And not that far from Saturn was the Moon that night. I captured this image expecting the next few days to be less than clear sky’s as the Hurricane/Tropical Storm Isaias strolls leisurely up the east coast. Of course last night was still clear but the almost full moon was between Jupiter and Saturn when I looked about 11pm. Now the clouds and wind have arrived but no where near hurricane force.
Almost missed this as I was at a stop sign near Noded South and saw the clouds. Didn’t see the rainbow until after I took the shot.
